Caring for your child’s teeth should begin at an early age to ensure they have a dazzling smile growing up. At Heritage Oak Dental, our team of excellent dentists is well-qualified to give your child the most effective dental care.

Heritage Oak Dental caters to both the general as well as specific needs of children’s teeth to set the stage early for the best dental hygiene and dental health in later years.

Why start early?

The sooner you start getting dental checkups for your children, the better it is for their oral health. Getting your children regular checkups during the formative years is highly beneficial for their teeth in the later years when permanent teeth start to grow. Starting early also inculcates good oral hygiene habits such as brushing and flossing and will make your children less reluctant to brush in the future.

Pediatric Dentistry

If you take your child to the dentist from an early age, it will prevent your child from developing a fear of dentists when he/she grows up.

What will our dentists do?

Pediatric dentistry at Heritage Oak Dental includes preventive treatment, fillings, restoration, and identification of early orthodontics with referral to the appropriate specialists.

Preventive treatment includes the use of sealants and athletic mouth guards for children. Sealants are a plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of the teeth where tooth decay is most likely to occur. Since tooth decay begins at an early age, children and adolescents benefit the most from sealants. Heritage Oak Dental recommends brushing and flossing regularly to remove food debris within the grooves of the teeth which are responsible for causing tooth decay. Some teeth are more inaccessible and even the bristles of the toothbrush cannot reach them. This is why Heritage Oak Dental recommends the use of sealants to prevent tooth decay in susceptible teeth. Sealants applied by our dental staff will protect the teeth from decay and will last for several years before they need to be replaced.

We provide comprehensive oral care in the areas of repairing tooth cavities and defects, management and diagnosis of gum diseases, care of injured teeth, assessment and treatment of crooked teeth and habit counseling for pacifier and thumb sucking.

At Heritage Oak Dental, we believe in starting early for excellent dental health and we are dedicated to the oral hygiene and care of children from their infancy to teen years. Our dentists have the temperament, experience, training and the expertise to deliver high-quality dental care for your child. We start with a thorough oral examination and then provide you with a wide range of treatment and care options to give your child the oral care he/she deserves.

Even if your little one is just a year old, it isn’t too early to start taking him to the dentist and get the best dental care from a young age. Bring your child to Heritage Oak Dental and set the foundation for healthy oral practices to give them the gift of a beautiful smile.
